Myrla's earlier beginnings as a Bonsai Artist began over 40 years ago in her hometown of San Pablo City, Philippines. She has always had an interest in art and especially beautifying her home and environment through Bonsai culture.
Shortly after she began cultivating her first bonsai trees a local Bonsai Master, Mario Estiva saw her talent and began encouraging her as an "Artist in The Making." She studied under Mario Estiva and it was not long before she was having one person shows of her own in her garden. Later she progressed to showing her art at local Garden and Flower shows in her province. She eventually developed a very thriving business of cultivating and selling her trees from her home garden courtyard.
Her business philosophy has always been and still is today to create the most beautiful designs in each of her trees and offer them at reasonable prices. Since arriving in America in 1995 and marrying her local Peace Corps Volunteer, she has been passing on her skills and enthusiasm to her husband Dave. The two of them have developed their business from very small beginnings to a successful local Bonsai Studio in southern New Hampshire. Their studio is open every Saturday from 9am-5pm and they also teach classes at the studio and in their Japanese Garden. Directions. During the past six years they have done Bonsai Workshops for local high school horticulture students and Garden Clubs. They both enjoy passing on their love for this art form and encouraging others to explore ways to connect with nature!
